Dear friends,
In reflecting on 2023, one word immediately comes to mind: community. The Refugee Self-Reliance Initiative has had a year of immense growth and powerful work, and none of what we have accomplished could have been done without the collaboration and support of our incredible community.
A few highlights from this year include:
Co-convening the Global Refugee Forum 2023 Multistakeholder Pledge on Economic Inclusion and Social Protection with 243 pledging partners, including 82 states and regional bodies.
Hosting our first refugee-led organization (RLO) learning exchange in Nairobi with RefugePoint with 80 participants joining in for powerful discussions about supporting RLOs and self-reliance.
The Self-Reliance Index being used actively by 51 organizations in 27 countries, with new online training modules now available in Arabic.
Publishing several new reports and articles, including ones on measuring and facilitating self-reliance, using the Self-Reliance Index to adapt organizational processes and programming, and Market Systems Development.
