Join the RSRI Community of Practice

The RSRI Community of Practice (CoP) is a network of professionals engaged in supporting refugee self-reliance and those who consider themselves advocates for the socio-economic inclusion and self-reliance of refugees through their work.

Members meet bi-monthly for CoP calls to hear updates from the RSRI and other partners and are invited to special events to learn and enhance refugee self-reliance through data, programming, and advocacy.

Community of Practice Working Groups

The RSRI Research CoP

The Research CoP is a sub-group within the broader Community of Practice that convenes researchers and academics working towards expanding the evidence base and intellectual conversations on refugee self-reliance. The Research CoP meets quarterly to exchange project updates, publications, events, and other learning opportunities related to self-reliance focused research.

The RSRI MSD Task Team

The Market Systems Development (MSD) Task Team is a technical working group that collaborates to develop resources around the topic of market systems development and refugee self-reliance and build capacity within the RSRI Community of Practice. The aim of the MSD Task Team is to inform country-level decision-making around market approaches in programming across a variety of context typologies, looking at barriers and enablers to self-reliance. Additionally, the group highlights market-based approaches - beyond cash assistance - that work to promote refugee self-reliance in fragile contexts.

The RSRI Climate Risks and Self-Reliance TWG

The Climate Risks and Self-Reliance Technical Working Group (TWG) is a time-bound working group that collaborates to identify good practices, existing research, and evidence gaps and develop resources on climate and self-reliance. The aim of the Climate Risks and Self-Reliance TWG is to co-create policy and agenda-setting outputs on the intersection of refugee self-reliance and climate impacts.
